Running a dog walking business involves plenty of paperwork. Between client details, schedules, walk reports and payments, admin can quickly eat into the time you’d rather spend with the dogs.
And then there are invoices.
If you’re still using a paper invoice book, you’ll know how tedious it can be to write everything out by hand. It’s another task to squeeze into your day, and keeping your paperwork organised takes effort too.
Of course, there are invoicing apps that can do much of the work for you. But do you really need another app to manage, particularly if your invoicing needs are fairly straightforward?
A simpler alternative to paper invoice books and invoicing apps
If you’d like your invoices to look professional without handwriting each one or committing to a complete invoicing system, a customisable template could be just what you need.
I’ve created an editable dog walking invoice template in Canva, designed for dog walkers, pet sitters and other pet professionals.
You can customise the colours, fonts, logo and layout to suit your business. Once you’re happy with your design, simply download your invoice as a PDF for digital use or printing, depending on your chosen Canva download settings.
You can then fill in the relevant details for each invoice and keep your paperwork organised digitally or in print.
It’s a straightforward option for small pet businesses that want professional-looking invoices without unnecessary complexity.
Make your paperwork work for you
Your invoices are part of your business’s professional image, but creating them shouldn’t become a project in itself.
Having a template ready to use means you don’t have to design an invoice from scratch every time.
If that sounds like something that would make your admin a little easier, you can find my editable dog walking invoice template in the Let’s Bork Etsy shop.
