🐾February Edition: Spatof!

This month’s Chelmsford Woof of Fame comes with a twist — because Spatof is, in fact, a cat! But she shines so brightly that we couldn’t leave her out — she deserves the spotlight just as much as any pup!

Spatof is my friends’ cat! When they adopted her she was very shy at first – she’d disappear the moment anyone came over. However once I started our visits, she quickly came out of her shell and her sweet personality shone through!

Breed: European
Age: 4
Backstory: Spatof was adopted from a shelter when she was young and lives now.
Personality: While shy with strangers, Spatof has an explorer’s heart. She will often go outside to walk around the neighbourhood , sometimes bringing back presents!

I have cared for Spatof for a couple of years now. I always love to see her as I get to give her lots of cuddles! She will usually come to greet me when she hears me arriving and she loves to be brushed! I can’t wait to see her again!

Most Adorable Habit: She likes to bring back presents from her adventures! Though the presents are not actually appreciated, it’s very sweet that she wants to share her loot with her family!

📖A Special Story

Spatof’s family always left her brush out for me whenever they went away. They’d tell me it was up to me whether to use it — even though her fur can get a little tangled sometimes, they were happy to handle it themselves when they got back.

But I love a bit of grooming — it’s so relaxing for me! So of course, I took every chance to brush her. And oh boy, was I in for a surprise!

Spatof is the only cat I know that I don’t have to chase around with the brush. She actually comes towards it and presses her body against it, ready for more. Isn’t that adorable? 💕

🐈Why I Love Spatof

I think I fell in love with Spatof the moment I realised that, even though she’s usually quite shy, she would come out of her shell just for me. She doesn’t seem to do this with just anyone so this makes me feel like I’m her special friend! 💛
