🐾A Local Dog Walking Star Story

For the month of September, I’m pleased to present our fluffiest star: Spencer!

When I first met Spencer I knew we were going to be friends! He was shy at first but he quickly realized we would always go on great walks whenever I was around. Also that treats were going to be involved!!🍬

Breed: Spanish Water Dog
Age: 3
Backstory: He was adopted from a breeder when he was 19 weeks old and because he was exposed to the outside world a little late he’s socially clumsy and easily scared by noises he doesn’t recognize.
Personality: He always wants to cuddle and play once he gets to know you. He likes to dictate where to go, especially if he can drag you to the park for a good session of fetch!

I have had the pleasure to care for Spencer since he was adopted by his dad! Back then, he was an adolescent pup but it quickly became clear just how smart he was! He learned easily new commands and the etiquette of walking on a loose lead!

Most Adorable Habit: Sometimes after a walk he’ll reach in between his front paws to gnaw on his back paws. Usually this makes him topple over. 🫣🤣Biggest No-No: Strangers petting him on his head first
Least Favourite treat: Any vegetables 🫣😆

📖A Special Story

As a true Spanish Water Dog, Spencer absolutely loves to swim. One of his favorite spots is the river in Central Park, where he often goes for a dip. But on one occasion, things got a little more exciting than planned! While out with his dad, Spencer suddenly dived straight into the water. It turned out to be much deeper than expected, and before long both Spencer and his dad were pulled in! Let’s just say… his dad definitely hadn’t planned on coming home soaked that day.

🐕Why I Love Spencer

Spencer has a real talent for matching the vibe of the walk. ☀️ On sunny days he’s all about chasing the ball, but when the rain comes down, he’s just as happy to enjoy a calm sniff walk—perfect, since between the leash and the umbrella, there isn’t a free hand left for fetch! And whether he’s rocking the stylish shaved look or his long, fluffy coat, Spencer pulls it off effortlessly.
