š¾A Local Pet Sitting Star Story

October’s Chelmsford Woof of Fame comes with a twist ā because Kayra is, in fact, a cat! He so lovely that we couldnāt leave him out ā he deserves the spotlight just as much as any pup!
The first time I met Kayra, he came to greet me on the driveway. I hadn’t seen him as he was walking behind me but he insisted on making his presence known with a cute Meow! When i turned around I saw this beautiful blue eyed cat. I was worried that he might be afraid of a stranger but I was wrong as Kayra is super friendly!
Breed: Siamese
Age: 4
Backstory: Kayra is named after the ancient mongolian god of creation even though he is a destroyer.
Personality: Kayra is super friendly and vocal (the cat equivalent of a husky); he will announce his entrance when he enters the house and will sometimes bring presents to his family! He’s very agile and he is quite the hunter.
Kayra is the newest memeber of our team – and he has quickly conquered my heart! His fun nature and friendly attitude makes it impossible not to! I’m so happy to care for him and I can’t wait to see more of him!

šA Special Story
I was doing a visit to check on him and feed him. Iād just washed his food and water bowls and refilled them, andābeing pregnantāI decided to sit down for a quick rest while he supervised to make sure Iād done a good job.
But as soon as he noticed I was sitting, he completely lost interest in his inspection and came running straight toward me. He jumped onto my lap and climbed up to my neck for maximum cuddle access. Then the purring started⦠followed by the biscuit making (with claws digging in my skin!).
At that point, I was officially taken hostage. There was no moving without disturbing him, so I surrendered and just enjoyed the cuddles ā despite the tiny bit of pain! ā¤ļøš
šWhy I Love Kayra
The thing I love most about Kayra is how friendly he is. He doesnāt just get involved out of curiosity ā he genuinely craves closeness. Heās not just a cat who wants to be around, he wants to be with you.
It makes him such a wonderful companion, a real pleasure to spend time with. I have to admit, Iām a little jealous ā my childhood cat only came for cuddles on her own terms (and not nearly as often as I wouldāve liked!).
